  1. not at all! They would be PERFECT! I own 2 Fury 705CB's, and plan on using them for shallow to medium cranks.
  2. I fish with a pair of new model Pflueger Patriach 3500XT's, and a pair of Shimano Stradic ci4+3000's, and love'em both. I choose these because of the "weight" of them. They both go around 6.7oz's. Personally, that's about as good quality as I would need.
  3. sorry, but at some point.........it' all in your mind! I'll take my $200 rods (which i usually buy at least 30% off.....St Croix & Dobyns), and my $200-$250 reels (which i usually buy up to 50% off.....example: Pflueger Patriarch XT, retail $249, I bought 2 at Pflueger's site a couple weeks ago for $90!). Nothing like having 250 in a new $500 oufit!
  4. my finesse rigs consist of a pair of Stradic Ci4+ 3000 reels, Avid X 6'9" MLXF rods, and 6lb Izorline XXX copolymer............ no braid or fluorocarbon
  5. Pflueger had some KILLER deals on their website. ALL GONE now though. I grabbed a couple Patriarch XT baitcasters, regular price $249, for under $90 each with free shipping! That's after using their 10% off coupon. I should have bought more with that sale!
  6. The new 2.0 models say “VERITAS 2.0” on the blank
  7. too much, especially when you cant' test ride.
  8. ^^^exactly!^^^
  9. take it to a dealer, and have them give it a thorough checkover!
  10. in my opinion, using the same rod to throw shallow squarebills, and 6XD's is a tough one. I personally own a pair of Fury 705CB's. Also own a Champion 764CB RM. I have not used the Furys yet, but i know what to expect. I have owned the 705CB models in the Dobyns lineup before (Champions). The fury "feels" very similiar to the Champion 705CB's. I plan on throwing med depth (6-12ft) cranks on my 705CB's. I would not even think about throwing a 6XD on them though. Not enough rod in my opinion. The 764CB RM would be a better choice, or the 765CB
  11. MAN I'M GLAD I'M A LEFTIE!
  12. Always hold rod in your strong hand, and reel with the weak. I’m a leftie, so I never had any problems like y’all righties! I cast left, & reel right.
  13. Dawn dishwasher soap?????????????? soak my bearings in Lighter Fluid
  14. That got me wondering, so I just went out and looked at mine and it does not have those black screws along both edges like that picture shows. Mine looks like the saltwater Edition with no visible screws or bolts. Picture of mine, and mine is not a SW model:
  15. That same seller has a standard common on saltwater gray one for $67.95 with free shipping. Maybe get ahold of him and swap what you bought for it. Just a thought
  16. Dimensions on the saltwater are a little bigger??? They say 21x14x7, The standard B300 is 20x12x6
  17. if you plan on doing alot of bass fishing out of it, I think you will be GREATLY disappointed. i grew up around pontoon boats. My dad always owned one. It doesn't make a good "bassboat". It does make a good large fishing platform for open water fishing though. As for towing, a front wheel drive minivan will STRUGGLE! Maybe consider a multi species fishing boat. More room than a bassboat.
  18. I got mine from Overtons, only because they sent me a 30% off coupon
  19. I got it in the fall of 2018. It is the most comfortable seat I have every used! When "sitting", which I do alot when fishing Lake Erie for smallmouth, it's great! it's a really natural & comfortable feeling when straddling it. when fishing rougher water, it really supports you, unlike a typical "pro pole" seat. It also makes a great leaning post. Will probably buy one for the back.
  20. My Polar Kraft TX195 has a 96"beam. Layout is smart on it too. Roomy front deck, roomy cockpit, roomy rear deck. Very well thought out.
  21. Squarebills in cover, 10 or 12 lb Silver Thread Excalibur copolymer. Mid depth cranks, same line in 10lb
  22. I LOVE the pair of Falcon Bucco 7'0 "Crankin Spin" model rods! Bought them at Walmart on clearance about 3-4 yrs ago. Nice power, and a moderate action. Also have a couple older Falcon spinning rods that work great for small cranks, jerkbaits. Falcon Lowrider LFS-2-169, and a LFS-1-17. I use Pflueger Patriarch XT spinning reels, in size 35.
