I'm looking into a used 1448 jon boat. The owner thinks it's a 1996 Grumman. He sent me a pic of the Coast Guard plate, and under manufacturer it says "OMC Aluminum Boat Group, Lebanon, MO". It also says it's a 1448 model. It does not say Grumman on the plate. What is the scoop?

The scoop is that OMC bought them around 1990.

Thanks. So it's not strange that the Coast Guard plate does not say Grumman? I'm waiting to hear back from the owner on why he thinks it's a Grumman. Maybe it says it on the registration card.
