Senko Fishing in the Fall.

Featured Replies

I like using Senkos because they catch fish, and I only have a light action rod and 6 pound test but they still work. Any tips for using them in the fall, and what size worms to be using. I know deep diving crankbaits and more power lures are popular, but I am interested to see what people have to say.

I use senko  style baits year round. Downsize to 4" on tuff days or in cold water. I also like a lightly weighted t-rig, or a neko rig in cold water over a wacky rig.

A 4 or 5 inch Senk is my go to bait in the fall up through about the second week on November.

5 inch senkos wacky rigged weightless work for me, baby bass colour is my #1

There are 5 gazillion threads on Senko's. Also some videos. Very informative and entertaining. May I suggest the search tab..

For right now, Senko Fishing doesn’t really change in my area yet. By mid November when the water temps have dropped considerably, I’ll often downsize to a 4” Senko and slow down my presentation. There are also a couple of colors that I only fish during the cold which seem to have their days.

Around here during the fall the bass start going after bigger baits.  I will be fishing with a 6" senko, usually weightless.

I will trig it and peg my weight about 6-15” up basically creating a small corolina rig. I’m fishing mainly big chunk rock
