Rapala DT-4

Featured Replies

Went to the store to buy a KVD 1.5 in a color that does very well in the river around here.  As you can probably assume by the title of the post, they were out of the color and I didn't want to leave empty handed so I picked one of these up to try out.

How do they do around cover?  The stretch of the river I fish has brush, laydowns, rocks, and undercut sections of bank that will typically hold fish.  I expect no issue around the undercuts or rocks, but without a true squarebill am I asking to get snagged if I use it around brush?

DT-4 is a great alternative to a true squarebill. Really nice flash and roll, along with vibration. Might not be quite as snag-free as a squarebill, but definitely catches fish in the same areas :high-five:

The DT does well around rocks for me. As with any Crank with treble hooks, you're going to have more trouble around wood, but the juice is worth the squeeze as they say.

I like them and fish them regularly.  They won't be as snag free as others mentioned but they will catch fish for sure.

They work good until they fall apart ?

Actually the DT-4 is a little more durable than the DT-6, but all of mine have fallen apart except for the DT Thug.

The DT 4 has been ok for me, the 3 that I like best are the , DT Fat 1, DT6 and DT 10 which are some of my favorite cranks out there.
