Quarry Man Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 I am currently not 18, but will be turning 18 in a few months. I live in PA. It appears that I need to be 21 in order to purchase a handgun from “a licensed dealer” but could theoretically buy one from a “private sale” i want ant to purchase a Scorpion EVO Pistol and convert it into an SBR. Want to add several mods like a flashlight laser acog and suppressor and drum mag. Also would like to purchase a glock 17/19. Is this possible to do legally in PA? Quote
Super User Gundog Posted October 25, 2018 Super User Posted October 25, 2018 @Quarry Man I just saw your post and although I can't answer your question if you go to a good gunshop that sells or specializes in Class 3 firearms they can give you good info on it. They will let you know about the age restrictions. Just from what I know, to make a SBR you need to submit a form to the ATF and buy a stamp for $200. 1 Quote
CroakHunter Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 Contact your local atf representative. DO NOT ask just any police officer. At minimum ask a state police officer as most firearm laws are regulated by state. Not county or township 1 Quote
Super User Way2slow Posted October 29, 2018 Super User Posted October 29, 2018 I have a hard time believing any state is going to let you do much of anything you are wanting to do with a handgun until you turn 21. They look at handguns a little different than long guns but as advised by others. Have a good heart to heart with a state law official before you even consider having a handgun in your possession without an of age adult with you, life could get real ugly for you. Quote
