Night Fishing Louisville KY

Featured Replies

I have been trying to find places to fish at night around Louisville and I find all the parks have huge signs and gate lock signs at sunset.

I was thinking about fishing at the taylorsville lake dam but can not find anything online whether fishing is allowed at night there.

Anyone recommend any night bank fishing places? And, does anyone know if you can fish the dam at night?

As far as I know you can fish Taylorsville lake at night. I usually put in at the Chowning Lane ramp. The only time I have ever seen the gates closed was about 2 or 3 years ago after the lake came up after a lot of rain. You might want to try Guist Creek lake in Shelby county. I was there about a month ago. They charge a $6 launch fee for boats.

Same as log catcher said, far as I know you can fish at night at Taylorsville. Was out there a month or two ago and stayed til 4am during a hot catfish bite, didn’t have any issues. Caught 3-4 nice 2lb bass by the docks as well, I was by the possum ridge boat ramp I believe.

I fished Taylorsville lake all night a week ago. No issues at all. A young boy and I’m guessing his mother were the only others there for a short time. I built a small fire and just enjoyed the cool Breeze until dawn. The main lake side near the pump facility at the dam is fairly well lit and there’s plenty of drift wood lying around to use.
