TM Shaft Length

Featured Replies

I am need to replace the trolling motor on my boat and I was wondering how to measure the shaft length on the one I have now. The only method I have found requires your boat in the water and to measure from the top of the bow to the water line. Do I need to measure just the shaft of my current TM or do I measure from the bottom of the motor housing to the top part of the trolling motor?

I had to replace my old Minn Kota. I measured from the bottom of control head to the top of motor housing unit and it was 48 inches.

Hope this helps.

Man I'm not too sure on that one. If you come up with something between 48 and 54 inches you're probably good. You can always run a long shaft on a short boat. That's what I'm doing anyway, got a deal on a 54" and went with it even though I could probably get away with 40"
