"Admiral, there be whales.... I mean a Bass Boat here!!"

Featured Replies

One of my favorite lines from "Star Trek IV, the Voyage Home" spoken by Scottie after he beamed up George and Gracie, the two humpback whales - modified a little bit as you can see. Here's what is resting all snug and safe in my garage:

I haven't stop smiling since it arrived this afternoon!!!

Congratulations! I suspect it will be some time before that smile disappears.

Ahgagagagaga!! I guess I shouldn't laugh - I been thinking about it but Lower Otay is only open on Wednesday during the week and I already have a trip planned with my oldest son and a friend of his from work a week from this Sunday (he doesn't know I have the PopeyeCraft yet - should be a nice surprise when he and his friend show up expecting to go out on a small rental with a 5 hp motor and no padded seats:o)

THANKS for all the "congrats"!! You guys and gals are always so suportive of other BR members. I feel honored just to be one of them!

My wife LOVES the boat too! She said it looks almost brand new. It has had very little usage over the years and is in superb condition. PO just had an 80# thrust Minn Kota installed that still has some of the factory celophane wrapping on the wiring (unused).

Now I have to install the trailer light harness in my Explorer Sport and get the right receiver and ball and I should be ready to FISH, FISH, and then FISH some more. Yahoo - no more paddling!!

As far as "ball height" goes, should I measure from the top of the coupler to the ground when the trailer is LEVEL and then make sure that the top of the ball on the receiver is the same height?? I've read some other posts where the guys are adamant about the trailer being towed LEVEL or as close to level as possible(??)

PS: I ONLY made about 50 or so trips to the garage yesterday and 3 already this AM:o) My wife said she fully expected to come home last night and find me either sitting in it or sleeping in it:o)

PSS: LBH: love that "PopeyeCraft" moniker - think I'll keep it if that's OK with ya!!

Git 'er wet!
