I just got one Friday.  Installed it Saturday.  Took it to Herb Parsons Monday.  (I'm on fishing vacation this week).  It works great.  I had moments when one side would not show anything on one side of the display.  Same finger print pattern as when I fire it up in the garage.  

Has anyone else had this problem?  

Im gonna try it again Friday.  If it keeps it up I'm gonna have to uninstall and reinstall again.  I hope some one has a fix for this.  Other than that....it is an awesome unit.  Males the whole bottom come to life.

I would make sure you unit has the latest software update installed.  I believe the current version for the 797 is 3.940.

I have a ? about the transducer how's it mounted and how big is it. I wanna get one for my boat but my wife freaked out when she saw the price. >

she busted me at  when I was looking at it, so I did'nt have a chance to buy it. I always buy then let her see it on the bank statement after the fact.
