Swim Jig Heads - Calling on Experts

Featured Replies

I recently purchased a few 1oz 6/0 hook Warbait Swim Jig Heads which I tried on a Big Hammer 9inch paddle tail. Photos attached

Maybe it's due to the heavy jig head but I feel much more comfortable fishing this paddle tail with a 10/0 weighted Owner beast hook.

Any advice on learning to fish using swim jig heads??

I am a big fan of that head.

I use it 3/4 & 1 oz. heads south of the border when fishing deep with 5.8 & 6.8 Keitech Swing Impact Fat paddletails.

And that 9 inch  Big Hammer is a huge bait.

I also love those heads with the Big Hammer Tails but I've never used tails that big. The tails are made to go on a jig head but I'm sure they would work on a weighted hook but I've never used them that way. They are also great on Warbait swim jigs.

I never fished a jig (“jig and pig” back in the day) when I was growing up.  I believe this might be why it feels so odd for me.  I used a Little George in the past but that was for casting into schools of white bass when they are running.
