No Rodman trip for me..

Featured Replies

I had scheduled a five day trip to Rodman Reservoir, tent camping at Rodman Campground. It’s a 12 hour drive at least. I was supposed to leave on Sunday but when I saw the forecast I changed my reservation to later in the week. Sunday afternoon at around 2:00 pm my phone rang: it was a recording saying that due to flooding the campground has been closed until February 15 and my reservation has been cancelled.

If I had left on my original schedule I would have been towing my boat somewhere in north Florida about the time the call came through. I can’t even begin to imagine how ticked I would have been!

Agree, Rodman is a special place. It's not as popular as other well known Florida lakes, which is a shame, but you could've found many other lakes not too far away.

Kissimmee and Harris Chain come to mind, Toho and my 2nd favorite Istokpoga.

Finding a place to stay on short notice would have been the problem.

There's plenty of camping and fishing available in North florida. I have only made reservations once in my life. Its a little early though esp with all this cold weather we've had . Around the Full moon in feb. ought to be good at rodman this year.
