I don't walk out of the door without a pocket knife

I never go anywhere without my Leatherman.

The best tool I've found for cutting braided line is the RIGRAP CERAMAX SUPER CUTTERS. Basically a ceramic scissors made to specifically cut braid. You never have to use tension and they always cut cleanly.

They don't seem to be popular though. The first pair I bought cost $20. I lent them to a friend and never got them back. I paid $10 for the replacement pair. I just saw them on sale at DSG for $3 and bought a couple more. I'm set for life.... ?

Great to hear that's what I finally ordered last night after reading a post from @GrumpyOlPhartte and researching. It will be nice not putting tension on line when cutting close to leader knot.

What cutter do you use for braided line? I'd prefer something that doesn't require putting tension on line when using. Mostly using 15-20# braid and tired of frayed ends on setups when using leaders

The BEST braid cutters I've ever seen, just like you said...requires no tension on the line and they cut braid like butter. I didn't believe the hype at first but i decided to try a pair and boy am I glad I did...they are amazing!!!

Good advice,  @Brad Reid.  One more trick that makes the Boomerangs last longer is cut flouro and mono near the tips, and only cut braid back deep in the jaws.  I find flouro dulls them faster than braid.

Yea, this makes a huge difference.

Leatherman wave scissors work fine for me

My teeth.  A seriously bad habit I was taught as a kid and struggle to break.

50 lb braid can take some chompin.

Thanks for the reminder to pick up something.
