I've used white grease when assembly engines, on connecting rod bearings and main bearings for the initial startup.

 

Has anyone ever used this grease in their reels?

    If you're talking White Lithium grease - that's all I've ever used and I've got reels that are 40+ years old and still going strong.

    Ugh... white lithium grease... that stuff won't go away.

    To each his own, but I have only ever used Super Lube, Yamaha Blue Marine and currently Shimano ACE2 and Cal's drag grease on my gears because I have micro gears now and that is what Shimano recommends for micro gear grease.
