I've been practicing several knots for this, blood, uni to uni, albright etc. I've watched many videos and it is amazing how the lines stay put during the tying process! The guy/gal can let go of the knot with no problem, then resume tying. In reality, for me anyway, the knot unravels and I have to star again and agin and again! The braid will generally stay put for me, but the flour/mono is another story, it will unravel in a heart beat! What am I doing wrong?

Any help would be appreciated!

What lb test mono or FC are you practicing with?

10# braid to 8# flouro.

Yours is the reason I only tie the Alberto knot for braid to fluoro. There is no need to let go of the fluoro when wrapping the braid and if you do let go of the braid mid-knot, it won't unravel. 

I think its easier to practice with bigger lines.  That being said, if this is what you will be using most of the time, then keep practicing with these sizes.  

 

I like the Crazy Alberto knot.  I like the way the FG looks, but it is too time consuming for me to tie.  Crazy Alberto is easy and hasn't failed.
