Any lews expert? Which model for finesse?

Featured Replies

Hi members!

I am looking for a finesse set up. Not ultra-finesse, but something that can throw 1/8 oz like ned rig effectively.

I know there are good shimano or daiwa bfs reels, but wanted to stick with Lews if possible.

Which model among lews line up would be the best at above task?

Apppreciate any input!!

I throw that with no problem on my $99 Lfs. I am buying a tournament pro for that on my birthday. It has an externally adjustable centrifugal brake which would be better imho.

I have a tournament pro that does really well with that type of thing. I put it on a Bass Pro Johnny Morris Signature Series 6’8” M/XF and it is amazing for the things you were mentioning.

My Lew’s Tournament MB can handle fishing lighter weights.

My favorite for light lures was the original tournament pro with dual braking.  I’m sure the new tp will work just as well.

I have TP and agree its pretty good! I was thinking of either using TP for medium or ML rod, and get something else for the job. Just wasnt sure if there is even better option than TP

Whichever one has the lightest spool would be a good starting point.

Wish they have weight of spool listed for each model..
