Any advice on reading sonar. Never had one before. I am running a Lowrance Hook2 9 SplitShot

    Yup. That's how I started. Learn the basics on you tube and then use it on the water and learn as you go.

    Tactical bassin has great videos regarding Sonar settings and understanding what you are looking at. Just watched this today. Very helpful in understanding 2D sonar and the kHZ settings.

    Put it in demo mode, and work through all the features and settings in the manual.  From there, explore YouTube as mentioned above.
