Net for bass fishing

Featured Replies

Admittingly my net is on the large side. Although it has one of those handles that slides into the net for storage, I still find it in the way all the time.  I am tempted to leave my net at home and just be prepared to lip a biggun should I ever get one to the boat. How many of you stow a net on your boat for bass fishing?

I carry one.  One of the cheap 20"ish round aluminum handled ones.  It's one of the only things that keeps my 2yo daughter entertained when we go out as a family.  She loves to net her brothers catches.  Being that she is 2, I have had to fish it out of the drink a few times already and would be upset if I lost an expensive one.  When I go alone, it is readily accessible but I only really use it with toothy fish.

I carry one of the BPS  gold series folding nets  behind my kayak seat just in case. I throw lipless most of time and sometimes it's not safe to lip the larger bass. Smaller ones i just lift with the line. It doesn't take up much space and will flip open 1 handed. Model # GSF25-35

Same here.....especially for tourneys.

I carry a net on my boat always. Have a Frabill that I use on my jon boat and a new Ego2 Slider for my river jet. I don't carry a net on my kayak since I can easily lip them right in the water being so close to the water. Fish grips on my yak for the toothy ones.

Ha, funny this came up. Carry it all the time. Stuck a 7 this week, went to grab the net, it was stuck on another rod, fish broke me off at the boat. Make sure it’s ready at all times!

learned my lesson, naturally, the hard way.

I use ego nets, and have a rod holder at the front of my boat that is there to hold my net, works great especially during tournaments!
