15-16' Jon Boat recommendation

Featured Replies

I should have written this are their brands to avoid... but I am looking for a 15-16' jon boat - probably a 15 or 1648 or wider if I can find one.

I fish/live in an area where a deep hull is not typically necessary and many lakes have a 9.9 limit or no motor restriction.  So I have decided on a 9.9 Yamaha engine, a large trolling motor set up and a couple raised seats-  just have to find the right boat to put them into.

Any input would work- brands don't matter- weight is not an issue- in my research so far I think an all-weld will be best but I don't think its 100% necessary.  About the only other thing I need to add is a rod locker and a secondary storage area.

One more thing- if anyone has opinions on the Lowe Big John 16 I would appreciate them also- there is one on close-out locally for $1600

thanks
