Sounds good to me. I'm a lowrance guy so I'm not really familiar with the helix, but if they can be connected to each other to share waypoints it would be great. I have a similar set up with a 9" with si at the console and a 5" with 2d a di at the bow. Works for me. I would like a bigger screen at the front for di but the 5 is ok on 2d.

I have a Helix 7 di on the bow and plan on putting the SI gps on the console this year if I win some tourney money. S I is way more beneficial on the console than the bow imo

I dont think the helix 5's are networkable.  The only 7's that network are the N models, like a helix 7 si g2n.

I had a helix 5 di on the bow of my last boat. All I used was the 2d.

My current boat has a helix 7 di on the bow. I use the down imaging a lot more with it.

From my own experience down imaging on the bow is useless with a 5 inch screen, unless you have great eyesight.

The 7 can still be hard to see sometimes.

I'd want the bigger graph at the bow, where viewing distance is greater.  Otherwise, that's what I run, but SI on both.

Bigger on bow... Console is where generally find a spot, but you don't spend time there. If the 5 cannot network... Anyway you can get two 7s?  Does the side view transducer work with eh 5 so you can use the package you are describing, but have the 7 up front with down and the 5 on console with down/side (maybe)?
