Recommended fish finders for $200.00 or under?

Featured Replies

I have a cheap Hummingbird fishfinder on the consol but I'm looking for a nice fishfinder to mount on the front. I'll mount the transducer on the trolling motor up front.

The lakes I fish are relatively shallow and small in comparison to the eastern lakes. Small coastal lakes no bigger than 1800 acres in size.

Any suggestions????

If a colored one is in your budget I would recommend it. It makes identifying things on the bottom so much easier.

I bought an Eagle FishEasy 320C last year to install on my kayak and I love it. I got it on eBay for just under $200 and it's a compact, relatively inexpensive color unit that works great on my 10' long Hobie kayak. Perfect for what I use it for, which is basically locating structure and bottom features vice actually finding fish. Definitely recommended for the price. I'd love to get another one for my Bass Tracker when I can find the money.

P.S.  It's also very easy to read and identify the color changes in direct sunlight, even while wearing polarized sunglasses.

I'm looking at a few Hummingbird models. The 575, th 565 and the Piranamax 240. I've almost taken the 240 off the list because of the low pixel count. The 575 is kind of cool although I don't know if it's worth the extra money. If there are 3 different screens showing, then that would make each one really small.

Right now I'm kind of leaning towards the 565. Good pixel count, large cone angle and the price is right............

   What do you guys think?????

565 easily.  Great resolution, great power.

I have looked at some of these models around $200 and it seems like the 565 is the best bet.  I am going to BPS tonight to check one out.  BTW they have a $20 off sale going on now in the stores, it is not online.

I just ordered the Hummingbird 565 fishfinder for my boat. I only have one question. I want to mount this to my bow mount trolling motor. Do I just use a hose clamp or is there a specific mount for that kind of thing?????

                   Thanks in advance.

Hummingbird 565 hands down   :)

I called Bass Pro Shops and got a Hummingbird 565 and the mount for the trolling motor.

I had heard on the forum here that BPS had this for $20.00 off but I didn't have that luck.

I'll let you know if I like it when I get it on the boat and take it out on the water.

I'm looking forward to it.

              Thanks everybody.

I just picked up a 565 Last weekend at BPS. it was $20 so it came out to 179.. I also picked up trolling motor transducer mount. I love it so far Nice screen and picks up well.. You won't be disappointed.
