Elite ti2 or helix

Featured Replies

Looking to upgrade fro. The hook2 I have now. What are the pros and cons of these units? I'm pretty behind the curve if you will when it co.es to electronics and terminology. Where I fish those places aren't on avionics or anything. Do either of these or any fish finder for that matter have a way to map put your body of water and save the contours and what not on your unit so you can map out your own lakes? That's really what would be the selling point for me in a unit. Both the helix and elite ti2 have superb detail in the graphics with the mega imaging and active imaging which is why I'm looking between these 2 it's a big step up from my hook2

I’m not familiar with Lowrance but the Helix units with MEGA imaging have Auto Chart Live which allows you to create your own maps with 1’ contours.

***Note***

The internal memory on the Helix is only around 8 hours of recording so you’ll need a zero lines card which run you around $75-100, that’ll give you more memory than you’ll ever need.

I did some research the elite ti2 has c map genesis live which maps your water. So what's the other features on the helix like the switch fire? And in lowrance the fish reveal smart target view? And any other little features and add ons?

I have an elite ti. I dont know how much different the ti2 is, but I really like the unit I have. Fish reveal is great. It basically takes the arches from 2d sonar and overlays them on the down scan. It's a really nice feature. I upgraded from a hook2 tripleshot also. Its a huge difference. The pictures are way better than the hook had.

I have no experiance with the helix. I have heard that mega imaging is better si than lowrance, but the lowrance is pretty good in my mind.

From what I can tell anyway the new elite ti2 3 in 1 active imaging is lowrance version of mega imaging
