needing to up grade pedestal seat and looking for recomendations. Brands better than others, kind of base  whether pin or hole in base.Swivieze has wedge looks like plastic at base, are these cheap nd break easlily thnks

I am not familiar with Springfield pedestals, looked them up and they make several mounting types. On the Springfield site they offer tech support and replacement parts.

Look like a good product, I suggest contacting them if you have repeated issues with the clip breaking. 

I haave owned boats with clip type pedestals and replaced them with metal thread in posts because I don't remove the posts every trip. One of my rangers had a similar metal clip in post and had a few issues getting the clip to release.
