Need advice

Featured Replies

I was thinking of buying a dedicated deep cranking rod, I have a couple crank bait rods for small to medium depths but they are 7'3" or smaller medium heavy's.

I only find myself deep cranking like 17 to 25ft range 3-5 times year.

My question is if any of yall maybe use a jig rod with slow taper to get by ,,basically if you didn't have a dedicated deep cranking rod what is best substitute ?

thanks !!

Use whatever you are fishing with jigs. You DO NOT need a dedicated rod for the amount

of time you are fishing deep cranks.
