Bought a Lew's baitcaster (Tournament) a few years ago, but really didn't use it much

 

I now wanted to play with the brake settings to enhance the experience

 

Upon opening palm cover, I find 4 (not 6) adjustment "tabs"

 

I note that if I move one of the tabs to the outside, that the "arm" pops up, but it will not stay extended - seems to be "spring loaded"

 

When I do this to "turn it off", the tab "clicks" into place. This does not happen when moving the tabs "out" - so I am guessing that the particulkar "brake" is not engaged

 

I am a bit hesitant to make press hard to get it to click - but it does this on all brakes.

 

Any advice ? help ?

When an individual brake is activated, centrifugal force will push it out to contact the drum. They retract when the spool slows.  When locked in place they are off. Does this help?

What year tournament pro is it ? The new one is externally adjustable as was the pro g that the tournament replaced. Did you buy it new ? If so it should have instructions.

The reel is working as advertised.  DVT pretty much summed it up.  Most people engaged half the pins (be it 4 or 6)  and call it a day.

You must be talking about the tournament mb and not the pro. In that case what these guys said applied.
