Ever seen or used one of these

Recommended Posts

This is a motor a friend of mine hooked me up with, 36 volt electric outboard, he says it will really go. First step I guess is getting the motor lowdown at a electric motor guru's shop. Man this thing is a beast, need a pro wrestler to pick it up.

Never seen anything like that before, but I bet it would make a good Stew stirrer. Put it on the side of a 100 quart pot and let it rip. ;D

It's just a golf cart motor with a lower end bolted up. They are neat if you can get it running. Plan on using 6volt batteries for better run time tho.

I believe you've been talking to my brother about our boat, Bad Fish. We use a similar set up.

That motor/lower unit looks a little old but if the brushes are good in the motor all you should need is a speed controller, a bank of batteries, and a LOT of spray paint to get going.

I'd actually be interested in knowing what lower unit that is and what gear ratio it has. It looks quite old but it has a lot less surface area in the water than what we run.

For the record, yes, we are the guys that are excited to see 5.5MPH on the GPS.

Well i sure hope to use it, gonna se a electric motor shop to get it checked out and make sure i get the lowdown so i dont blow myself up. Had a bud a while back set his boat on fire with some kind of short on the water, dont want to go there. i intend upon posting the setup pics when i get to that point, gonna load up a 1648 with 6volt batteries and this pig.

I would be very interested in the entire project (Start to finish) if you care to take the time to post.

Simple golf cart motor conversion there.  If the motor is good it should work great on your boat.  Expect to spend about 1500 on speed controller and batteries for it.
