Cheap / Best GPS with Marine Chart Capability?

Featured Replies

I just bought a boat, I have a fishfinder already so im looking for a gps that supports pre loaded marine charts on sd card.

Not looking to spend a crazy amount, If you know of any please let me know.

Also could you put the sd marine charts into a normal gps that supports sd cards?

Thanks.

You can put SD card marine maps in any gps that supports them. Navionics is one supplier. GPS like magellan can only read magellan maps. Lowrance, Humminbird and others can read the Navionics. You just have to see what GPS equipment has compatible maps for the area you fish.

You can't do better than the Lowrance H2O.

Mr. Mike!

Nice to hear from you, buddy. Have you been catching any fish or having some fun?

Send me a PM when you have time. Maybe we can get together on the White River this fall.

Wow Kent, are you allowed to be my friend again?  I would send you a PM but you and I know that you don't respond.

Thanks, The H20 looks solid.

I have a question though, Is the colour version worth the extra $100 compared to the gray scale?

I have never used the color one, but the B&W one I have is great.

In my opinion, no.  They grayscale version works just fine.
