Going to Lake Winnipesaukee for vacation next week any advice on what tackle for this time of year?

Featured Replies

Title, but going up for vacation, go every year and love every second. will be doing some dock fishing (got my PD last year this way with Senko) and out on a Kayak.

Any advice on what tackle I should look to stock up on for my trip? Will be on the north side on and in Moultonborough Bay area. Thanks in advance!

I am just one lake over in Squam.  Plastics and jigs have been getting it done for weeks and heat is still in the forecast.  Neco was the bait of choice at last Sunday's tournament .  Don't look for the hole in the donut ?

NHBull knows best and I took his advice last year when I was up there. I was at Weirs Beach just about this time last year, and here is my report:

Basically, I couldn't keep the rock bass off the ned rig. I scored LMB on 4" GY grubs, and SMB on 5" senkos (GP and purple). I think the white perch move around a lot, so throwing a kastmaster might be a good option to cover water.

Id also still throw a drop shot even if its from a dock. Its the idea of presenting a finesse bait, suspended off bottom that gets the extra bites. Fishing high pressured areas, and throwing something the other guys didn't usually pays off.

Winni is an excellent topwater lake.  A skitter pop or whopper plopper are GREAT choices.

I was just over at newfound lake last week and the lure that produced the best was tiny jigs with small trailers.   Zman micro jig with the zman tickler crushed it.   Even caught me a big rainbow.

Also caught fish on tubes, small whopper plopper, Tiny torpedo and Crig with baby brush hog
