Everything Ned Rig

Featured Replies

I have been fishing the Ned rig for awhile now and have decided that you really can't beat the Zman products. I have been fishing with just the normal ned rig baits by Zman but thinking about rigging up a slim swim on the ned rig jig head. has anyone had any luck with it?

just do it

For the ned rig. You can't really beat Zman. They just last so long and there isn't anything fancy about the action needed.

Plenty of people using small swimbaits on ned heads. Would love to know your results.

Good luck!

Do whatever you want with it :)

I like Z-man the best, but want to try the new Strike King

worms at some point. Same "plastic" I believe.

This might look like I copied @Team9ninebut yes I copied him lol.

So far I only have luck on TRD tube and one crappie on Slim swimZ, nothing on TRD craw.

I tried all of this not just for bass, but hope to catch more of crappies than bass. I ordered 2.5” version of Swimz but d**n Dick’s sent me 3” instead. Next time I’m gonna trim it down to 2-2.5”.

@Darren.if you haven’t tried it, I recommend baby brush hog and hula grub on either 1/15oz or 1/10 weedless.

Nice fish. Once you get the exact baits and setups dialed in for your waters, you can make a pretty wicked but very simplified finesse box that will catch loads of bass. All those fish I posted yesterday, both the "other species" as well as the bass, were all caught on just 2 types of finesse baits and outfits.

Good work!

I think they are perfect plastic, plastic not the Elaztech type. So super soft and supple one fish baits lol, not the super soft and supple million fish baits

Ok, I thought I read they were the "same". Oh well.

Only the one marked 3x strike king that is the same type. I have 2 bags of those, one is jerk shad and KVD finesse worm. They do catch fish, I don’t see anything like TRD.

Any small plastic bait will catch fish on a mushroom head. Some may be more effective according to their shape and color. Just experiment.

The googan baits rattlin' NED stick baits seem pretty interesting.

I've got some of the smallest Slim SwimZ that I fish on a 1/16oz head that catch just about everything.

The 2.5" slim swimz are awesome. And when you get bored fishing it finesse style, just steady reel it and you have a tiny swim bait with the tail paddling away. Has really re-ignited my interest in finesse fishing.

The TRD Craw I had high hopes for, but the claws will frequently get caught in the hook, requiring you to fix it before the next cast. It's like the claw appendages are just too flappy.
