I often see rod manufacturers and article writers mention "great for lighter Jigs", and "perfect for lighter t-rigs"

I never really get what they are getting at exactly. I have my idea, but who knows what everyone else has in mind.

I'm not talking about ned rigs or hair jigs, I'm talking about standard skirted style jigs.

Keep in mind a 1/4 oz jig is just the weight of the jig head only. Add a hook, weed guard, skirt, & trailer it aint 1/4 oz no more!

Yeah I have that in consideration. My question is pretty specific, what everyone has in mind when "lighter jigs" is mentioned.

For me it's two different things. A light skirted jig (which I assume is what you're asking about) is 3/16-1/4oz while a light t-rig is 1/16-1/8oz.

Yeah you got it 100%.
