New Melones Reservoir, CA?

Featured Replies

Has anyone on this site fished this reservoir recently? Going up there next week, don’t know the lake at all!

Looking for ideas on baits and colors.

Thanks....Joe

Go to the westernbass website.  They have a section on Lake Reports.  The last report was August 3, so I'm not sure if this will help you.

Check with the Glory Hole Sprots in Angles Camp for what's going on.

Been a bit since I have been there . I would start at the d**n on the right side. If slow I would run past the second bridge and work the coves . Then if still slow run up river and work the rock walls

We fished it Wednesday the 28th. Got on the water late, around 8:30-9:00, it was already pretty toasty!

Fished the lower Angle Arm near Glory Hole. It was pretty slow, caught about a dozen fish <2# using wacky rig, football jigs, and shaky.

Fish were relating to flooded trees and brush.

Had two blow ups on a popper, but no hook ups.

Wish I had seen this earlier. That algae bloom that came down the middle fork a few weeks ago (cyanobacteria) really turned the bite off, but I am glad you at least got into some fish. Don Pedro has been good all summer, but sorry that does nothing for you now!
