What is a good portable gps for fishing?

I have my first handheld GPS since two months and its Lowrance iFinder H20. No regret. You'll be pleased with it.

One that you can understand!    I still use a old 315 from the year 2000. Thats old in todays electronics  but it works and its easy to use. The more you use a GPS the better you understand it. Now I don't have street names and turn by turn voice but it will find a turkey roost at 3 am on a mountain top or a fishing hole on a remote stream and all within 15 meters. Thats what its suspose to do and it does!

I have a Magellan Triton series and it sux, the batteries run down in 3 days with the unit off the whole time. Right now I'm in the process of fighting with their customer service ( or the lack there of). I don't know what to buy, but I do know what not to.

You asking about GPS for fishing and your best choice would be the Lowrance H2O or H20c. You can add additional lake mapping with Lowrance software or Navionics software.

Lowrance H2Oc is the only choice.  And yes, the color is worth the extra money.

Go with the H2O or H2OC.  Dependable and you can download their FREE Enhanced Lake Maps.  They are not the detail of the Navionics or Hot Maps but they are free.  It also comes with a auxillary power cable that plugs into a cig lighter so you don't have to burn batteries while using it in the car or boat.

Another vote for the H20.  I've got one in the vehicle with map-create and one for the boats with Navionics.  Can't go wrong.

I needed a unit that I could use in my Kayak as well as take hiking and Geocaching so I just ordered a Garmin GPSMAP 60Cx. Altough it doesn't float like the 76Cx it is waterproof and I liked the features on this unit. I should have it by the end of the week and can't wait to try it out.
