  1. The law usually requires that if you put a portable tank into a compartment it NEEDS to be vented. As is posted above usually 2 vents one facing forward one rearward. Grounding a fuel system is never a bad idea.
  2. You might have separate livewell pumps for fresh water or recirc. Or it might be for pump-out. As was stated before, follow the hoses and that would be your first clue.
  3. I have Johnny Morris Elite and Signature. very happy with both.
  4. I just ordered a kit from briggs and stratton through my local lawn mower shop for about $8.50
  5. I like a reel that has both, but if I had to choose just one I would have to go with cetrifugal, the rest I can do with my thumb.
  6. I didn't know the oomp loompas were working out of China now. That figures !!!
  7. Shimano Crucial gets my vote here. Light, sensitive and you can't beat the over-the-counter warranty!!!
  8. Crucial, I have the same rod and use it for plastic worms. It's light, sensitive and strong. The broken tip stories bother me a little but I've worked mine pretty hard and the warranty is good though I hope that I'll never need it. Good luck with whatever choice you make.
  9. Another Clearwater resident here. Been here too long. Traffic sucks (especially this time of year). Weather sucks (except this time of year). Everywhere you go there's too many people (any time of year). Fishing is decent on some lakes and the best places ARE private (probably because there are too many people). Can't wait 'til the housing market improves so I can move to a better place like Virginia (actually thinking more like Carolinas). But it is nice to be able to fish year round. Good luck
  10. I bought an '02 NX750 with a 115 last fall. I got it for 7k and NADA had it listed for 10k, I gues I got a good deal. So far i am very happy with it. It will run about 55 mph (gps) and that is fast enough for me. There is a lot of storage space considering it's only a 17.5' boat. The only reservation I have is that with a dual console ther is less room to move around in the boat but it's liveable. Good luck on your quest.
  11. I have a Magellan Triton series and it sux, the batteries run down in 3 days with the unit off the whole time. Right now I'm in the process of fighting with their customer service ( or the lack there of). I don't know what to buy, but I do know what not to.
  12. Mine was a '50s something 12' Jon boat with a 3.5 horse motor. I stipped and painted it, added a trolling motor, pedistal seats, carpeted floor boards. It got the job done. Now I have a Nitro NX 750 with a 115. It gets the job done too but gets there a little bit faster and with a little more comfort.
  13. I use 30lb braid and 12lb fluoro leader with a J-knot, always wet line before tightening knot. Never had a problem yet. Coil of fluoro attatched to knot on braid probably means that the fluoro was damaged by the braid when the knot was tightened, wetting line should lubricate line to prevent damage.
  14. I have a 6'6" mh that I use for T-rig. I'm extremely happy with it and plan on adding more to my arsinal soon.
  15. Are you sure the hub is not slipping on your prop ?
