So my son was telling me that for his next birthday, he would like nothing more than going bass fishing with a guide.  I have no idea about who, when, where, and cost of such an endeavor.  Any suggestions and tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

I can recommend Rich Tauber for lake Casitas and Rusty Brown for lake Castaic and DVL. I have never hired a guide but know a few and for your son both Rich and Rusty are good knowledgeable bass pro's who like to guide youngsters.

Thanks Tom.

Anyone hear of Todd Krine?  He's a friend of a friend and comes highly recommended.  I think he charges about $500 for full day (2 fishers).

There are some good guides down in lake Perris and Diamond Valley Lake. I’ve heard a lot about Moreno. When is his BD? Learn how to fish Jig, if you plan for Lake Perris.

So my son's b-day is next week.  I'm thinking of doing a guided trip to Perris this coming weekend.  What do you guys think of the bite right now?  The guide suggests we wait a few more weeks for water temps to warm up a bit, but just curious if any of you guys have been out there recently?

thanks

It's been a cold pre spawn season and just starting to warm up this week. Your guide knows his lake and targeting deeper pre spawner or cruisers require a little more skill.

2 weeks more bass will be above 10' depth in 3' to 8' and easier for the guide to put you on several good bass.

Haven't fished with him (Todd Kline), but from everything I have seen, he has DVL WIRED. Ex pro surfer from Florida, current pro angler in So Cal who has a strong knowledge of DVL and I believe Skinner as well.

Edit: Sorry, I just saw your OP was from last year. Hopefully you guys got on em good.

If you and your son can make it in the morning, let say 7:00 we can fish a few hour and then go have brunch at Golf Club to celebrate your son birthday.

A lot of the good guys are busy right now with tournaments and sponsor obligations.  Now I'm looking to go with Pete Marino.  Appears to be very experienced at Perris as a pro.  Trying to go in a few weeks so I will let you guys know how we do.
