Expride guys

Featured Replies

This is my second post about them. I want a expride/ chronarch mgl combo. I have it in my mind, that’s what I want. I want it for jig fishing next season. In your opinions is this a good thing. I have zero reasons for wanting this setup. But I do. Throw me a bone.

A 7.2 MH Expride with a 8.1 Chronarch MGL would make an excellent jig and worm set up.

What models were you wanting and what is the intended technique?

I was thinking the 6’8” mh. To drag and hop jigs.

While you're wanting this setup, you may want to look into the Bantam MGL/IMX Pro limited edition combo that Shimano is offering this month.

While I don't have a dedicated Expride jig rid, I do have the 7'6 MH that I wouldn't hesitate to through finesse jigs on. I feel the Exprides are slightly more tip heavy than my other rods so the MH would be perfect for that application. What I use mine for are 1/4 to 3/8 ounce Texas rigs. I have mine paired with a Chronarch 51e.

As for the Chronarch MGL, I have that too. Great reel. I'd give the edge to the K though, but the K isn't as comfortably palm-able in my opinion.

I ordered mine in the first hour that the pre-order went live. They're supposed to start shipping early to mid November, so hopefully it isn't too much longer.

I have only heard mediocre thing about the IMX Pro. I personally haven't fished one so I cant say.

But I do really like my exprides.

I’m gonna still get the expride. Already grabbed the chronarch. That other combo is basically getting a imxpro for the price of the bantam.
