American Tackle Reels?

Featured Replies

Ran across an ad for this American Tackle reel. I know they make quality rod blanks but had no idea they also made reels. Just curious what you guys know about AT and their reel production....

I just saw the ads for their black Friday sale too.  Never heard of them for reels before.  Haven't been able to find much info on them either.

That is either the same Banax platform as the Kastking Spartacus Elite or the Chinese knock off of that platform.  In any case.  No.  I'm sure it is fine for $50 but for a little more there is the Fuego CT and SLX.  BPS house brand reel with aluminum frames and centrifugal or dual brake can regularly be had for that much.

I totally agree, I love my Fuego CT reels or keep an I out for the Bass Pro Qualifier sale.

Looks like a Chinesium reel. As already stated it looks like a similar reel to the Kast King reels. I personally would not buy it because for just a few bucks more you can get a Fuego or slx witch are proven platforms. But if the kastking type of reels are your cup of tea then this looks like another option for a similar reel.

As far as the production goes its probably a phone call or email to china to say what platform you want, how many you want, and what options you want on them.

I'm thinking maybe their reel factory made them a heck of a good deal on some reels another customer backed out on.

Might not be a bad reel for the price.

Not sure how smooth or durable it may be, but heck it's only $50.

Its seems pretty light weight at around 5.3 oz. Switch that handle out to a carbon fiber handle and it may go under 5 oz.
