Hello! I am considering spooling up with straight fluorocarbon on my Shimano Ci4+ 2500. I am wondering if I will be good spooling straight 10lb Sniper/Tatsu. I would love if someone has done this and can give me insight as to whether or not that’s a good deal. 

Yes straight fluorocarbon shouldn't be a problem. Both of those lines are top notch with Tatsu being a unicorn lol

I have tried both in 6lb and Sniper has more memory.  I really didn't care for it on spinning gear.  I tried Tatsu several years ago on an older Stradic and it was great but I found I like Trilene XL 100% FC better (just based on the lower cost).  I also like Invizx for spinning gear.

Is the 10# too thick to be manageable? Should I just throw braid to leader?

I think you made the right choice.  11,324 people on this forum can't be wrong.     I realize braid is going to handle better over the long haul.  However, I grew up using XL and just prefer mono/co-polymer over braid.

I just worry the 8# is too d**n light for 3/16 oz texas rigs, in average grass cover, and the 10# is too thick to manage! ( 2500 )

I use 15lb on my 2500 reels with no problems. A lot of people like 10, but you can still fit so much line on the spool with 15 and it helps with abrasion resistance, and it still casts a country mile. No reason not to use 15lb IMO.

I assume you are talking about mono...not braid. 10# should be okay.  Especially if you use a line like XL, Elite, Super Natural or maybe even AN40.  These are softer lines that don't have as much memory as lines like XT, CXX, Platinum or Big Game.  If a line is known for its abrasion resistance, there is an excellent possibility that you shouldn't be using it on a spinning reel except in very small diameters.  Too much memory.

 

15-20# braid is fine.  I have 30# braid on a Daiwa Advantage 2000A mounted on a MHF.  No problem and it will straighten jig hooks with a steady pull.

I’m talking about fluoro. 15# braid is 100% the best.

Is Tatsu any good in 10# on a spinning setup? It’s diameter is = 8# XL Mono

I did purchase braid, ( 15# 832 ) with a spool of CXX for leader. I still can purchase a big spool of 10# Tatsu ( = 8# XL Mono ) and spool that. I just wonder what I should do IYO.
