Can a onboard charger get wet? If you mount it on a jon boat where would you mount it? Does it hurt it to have it uncovered and in the elements or are they sealed? Thanks MikeS

Most on-board marine chargers are pretty much water-proof. That said, I would be somewhat concerned about the charger if my boat sank. ;D

BTW, I have no idea why you started a poll about trolling motors when your question was about chargers.  Did I miss something?

No you didn't miss anything. I couldn't post without starting a poll for some reason. So I just came up with this because I'm going to purchase a new TM in the winter. MikeS

All of the actual on-board chargers I have ever seen have been sealed and are completely waterproof/submersible.

I have an older Dual Pro unit... it will charge while submerged. ;D

The trolling motors are pretty much equal. Some people like one and not the other due to problems experienced. The MinnKota and Motor Guide models are the most popular with the largest number in service so personal preference pretty much dictates which one is purchased.
