CRC Blanks

Featured Replies

Anyone ever use the Custom Rod Components rod blanks? Seem really cheap $30-$50 but I can't find a thing about them.

I second that, unless prices have changed, the Get Bit Liberty blanks are also a good choice.

They’re good for the price. No problems. They are as advertised.

99% of the time I use MHX but I have been thinking about trying different blanks.

I recently purchased a couple of models, I have not built them yet,  I did happen to have MB843 blank on hand to compare to a CFX model with similar power and action..   The CFX was noticeably lighter, but other than that I couldn't tell the difference.

I've used a couple and have been happy.  Wish more people used them to find out how other blanks are.  My favorite is a 7'9" heritage blank.  That one is made in Korea.  Super light and powerful.  I'd like to find one of theres for jigging walleye and dropshoting.

In the process of making three rods with them using the CRC American heritage 7,4 Heavy for flipping.  And the 6,8 MH for a jerk rod.  I got 2 of the 3 blanks in so far and I am impressed so far just messing with them.  Be aware Shipping is slow.  Also, shipping is expensive unless you order $150 or more then it’s free.

Just finished a medium heavy american heritage complete with one of their grips as a general duty all purpose/T-rig rod. I think their colored blanks look pretty sharp and the blank feels good.

I have to tell I’m pleasantly surprised with the CRB Color series blanks. I have built and tested the CRB Color series blanks and have cracked or broke them yet. I only use MED-HVY and HEAVY 7’-7’6” rods for bass.

Looks pretty good. Do you prefer cork over EVA?

I like both- but I know a lot of people hate EVA because it isn't as sensitive. I usually 'bear paw' the reel with a finger on the blank (no foregrip) and I think I can get away with EVA more because of that. This build was on a CRC handle that's a mix of EVA and cork.

I dislike 'soft' EVA so I tend to favor the EVA with rubberized cork or carbon fiber reinforcement/trim.

Got two more of there blanks this week.  Both feel and look great.  7'4" heavy for my son and a 7'6" musky blank for me.

I have built several CRC blanks and was very impressed with sensitivity and strength.    I agree with an earlier post on high shipping cost.
