I bought this lil 10 TinCup fer $100, she had some minor leakage around a few rivits and seams, and the back was so worn from being pulled around over the years you could almost poke a finger thru-it.

I stripped the entire bottom of the boat using a wire brush and a drill, took bout an hour, not bad considering I brought it to bare metal.

On the inside I filled the holes with JB Weld and ran a bead like filler up about 6 to 8 inches from the back...

I used self etching primer and a lil dab of Krylons ODG flat.

next I tackled the bottom. What I used was Fasco's 9X SteelFlex 2 part epoxy and mixed in the OD Green color. Surface prep is key with this stuff and bringing the bottom to bare metal is a MUST, the rougher the surface the better the epoxy will adhere to it...It comes in quart kits and each kit will cover approximetly 30 sq ft providing how thick it's applied...I ordered 2 quarts and color and it ran me a lil over $50 shipped from FLA...I mixed 1 quart kit at a time and used foam brushes and rollers.....it came out really good considering I ran into some trouble on my second coat and was ready to throw in the towel, but all is well and the epoxy did exactlty what it claimed to do. Protect the bottom from light scratches and place a water tite seal around the boat...NO MORE LEAKY RIVITS...EVER

What looks really good is I painted my boat with Krylons ODG Flat paint and where the epoxy & paint meet, the colors blended well

after the epoxy dried I then prepped the boat surface for painting, I lightly sanded it, washed it down and rubbed the surface with acetone, as the same went for the bottom....I used Self Etching Primer and Krylons ODG Flat. I dont have many pix of the paint but I can provide a custom paint I did on the side...

I then went to work on the interior....knowing she's only 10ft I really cant deck her so I just made my footing a little more stable and added a small 4" deck in the front with storage, and tried to muffle the sounds of a tin cup in open water...I used the artifical turf from the De-Pot, it was reasonably priced and it suited my needs and my buget. I had some plywood & 2x4s lyin around so I put em to good use.

this was my goal for up front, to level the footing area and make a solid platform for my daughter to stand on and provide storage when Im out alone.

the platform to left of the storage locker is also removable to provide extra storage if need be.

They bottom looks like it came out great, better then new.  I wish I could flip my boat over and work on the bottom of the boat.

GREAT WORK! Just a heads up, if you put swivel seats on it, the Astro Turf is just going to come off the seats. We gave up and  the swivels onto wood then put wood over the metal and then painted it green and put  on the seats, worked a whole lot better!

Where did you get the hardware for the storage compartment?

I already have the hinges, im just looking for the thing you pull on to open the compartment (not sure of the name).

They sell latches and other handles for storage compartments at Cabelas' and BPS.

AC how many coats did you get out of 2 quarts?  Do you think I'll have enought to do the whole out side of my boat
