  1. i came in 2nd with 9.03. Congratulations on the win and good luck in Pittsburgh.
  2. yep just reel down to the fish and lift up and let the fishes weight bow your rod. no hard hookset
  3. Took my new mod. jon boat sunday and today with similar results, all small males. Im fishing in a lake that is known for really big bass and usually i catch much bigger bags than i did. Every trip i catch at least a couple 3 and 4 pounders. With temps in the 80's for three straight days, the water temp skyrocked. In one shallow cove i saw 63. The fish were stacked up on windblown shores in the back of coves, and shallow pockets. The mainlake temps averaged 59. I caught them all pitching a green pumpkin senko. Where do yall think the big females were at? Or what couldve i done differently?
  4. definitely lipless. Besides that, my favorites are: water temp. around 50 -Bomber Fat Free Shad -Norman Deep Little N -Rapala DT 9 Flat series -Bandit Flat Max Deep -Bomber Deep Flat A High 50's -Fat Free Shad -Rapala DT 6 -Spro Little John
  5. Thanks Sam, Ive actually been there before. Best crankbait selection ive ever seen. I need to go there when i prefish and stock up on some cranks.
  6. The boat used to be a piece of junk. I bought her for 50 dollars. I bought the paint off of ebay and i dont the the specifics, but I know it was acrylic and the color is called Hulk Green. It was way too thick at first and i added quuite a bit of paint thinner which changed the color a tad bit. Ive been looking for a trailor for a good while but i cant find one for cheap. So yeah i just load it in the back of my stepdads old work van that has all the seats taken out. I will take some pics to show how i did the wiring when i get home.
  7. Mounted the trolling motor on the front. I used a trolling motor plug and ran 6 gauge wire to the back of the boat where the battery is at. I did this to balance the boat out a little bit.
  8. the only thing left to do is vacuum.
  9. Just finished her. Cant wait to take it out on the water this weekend. You can get a general idea of what she used to be. I shouldve taken "before" pics but this is the best one I got. Before:
  10. Yea hopefully we get a heavy rain to raise the water level to 303+. How far of a run do you think it would be to Clarksville?(average boat at our tournaments) I really need to get a map of Buggs.
  11. I have a tournament at Buggs, April 11th. We will be launching out of Palmers Point(lower end). I have never fished this area of the lake or at that time of year, so i could use some serious help. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  12. 6'6'' Shimano Compre M MF for open water or sparse cover and a 7' St. Croix MH MOD for ripping through the grass
  13. Here in Va i always have luck with small finesse baits. Especially drop shotting a small finesse worm. Pre Front or Post Front the dropshot worked painfully slow will produce.
  14. the fish in my avatar was a replica mount.(she was released) you just need a couple of detailed pictures and precise measurements. The one mounted was my first citation (8 lbs 8oz.) I just wish i wouldve waited till last may and got my 11 pounder mounted! lol. I would highly suggest looking into the fiberglass replica mounts. You can remember that trophy forever and you can know that she was released safely.
  15. I've always seen these baits on ***.com and always thought about buying some. They seem like a good worm. From the looks of the picture, were you fishing it weightless?
  16. hmmmmmmmm indeed
  17. I'm fishing a tournament at the Chick River this weekend(tidal river in va). A big cold front is coming through off of a week in the high 80's. Do yall think this will effect the fishing. What do yall usually do for a fall river cold front????
  18. I totally agree. I guess im not the only one who loves extremes. For the money no reel can top it. I cant say id put them against any other reel, but in your situation, if you don't buy the extreme you are seriously missing out on a great bargain
  19. i catch bass in every month of the year here in va Use light line..........drop shot, shakey heads, and my absolute favorite winter time bait: the X-Rap Deep http://www.cansionpesca.com/tiendaonline/images/rapala-xrap-deep.jpg just remember to fish slow...VERY SLOW
  20. I'll be fishing a tournament at the chick river on the 18th. I fished a tourny there two weekends ago but it was very slow and produced only 1 limit. How would you approach the chick if you were to fish it next weekend. What would you throw? Where would you fish? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  21. BPS extremes...i have 4 of em! best bang for your buck
  22. you said youre having trouble telling between fish and snags? I used to and now that ive realllllly mastered the crankbait i can just tell. You never really need to SET the hook with a crank. , when you feel resistance just kind of keep crankin and believe me you'll tell. also a fiberglass rod will help I just recently got one and to me its a world of difference
