KVD - Lew’s Jerkbait rod?

Any word if KVD is designing a new jerk bait rod for Lew’s, or will he use one of their existing models?  Don’t see anything in the current lineup similar to what he used at Quantum.

I'm actually very interested to see what all stuff Lew's put out with him in mind. You do not bring him in and pay him what they have to be paying him unless you are willing to completely give him what all he wants design-wise so to also sell a ton of gear. Let's face it, the man moves merch.

They brought him in because they company that bought Lews already owned strike king. But it will be interesting to see what Lew's comes up with now.

That is interesting. Do you think Lews will run with KVD like Quantum did?

Maybe. I'd imagine so. I could see a Lews KVD rod

You don't spend a ton of money to sign a guy like KVD then not put out his own signature series.

Hackney already has his line of lews so I'm quite sure kvd stuff is coming.  Should be interesting as it seems the hackney line and the jordan lee line from abu are targeting the budget lines of gear.

KVD’s line at Quantum wasn’t high-end either, so maybe he goes upstream a bit.  But the premium stuff doesn’t sell in high volume and I would think they want to leverage his name to the masses again.  Probably mid market $100-200 range but will see.

I had been holding out to get a jerk bait rod this year, but got a deal on a Dobyns in the meantime.

Lews has a decent jerkbait rod. It is 6'7" med modfast with a short rear handle Winn grip.

I had that rod and sold it after a year.  While the shorter handle was good for the downward jerk motion, when you did hook a fish the lack of handle made it very hard to get any leverage.  Ended up fighting the fish with basically just your wrist and a very tip-heavy rod.
