Jig/Worm Rod Recommendations (3/8 - 1/2 oz)

Featured Replies

Hoping to find someone who owns both Ethos HD rods and Dobyns Fury casting rods.

If anyone out there has experience with both of these rods, what are some differences and how have they held up?

Based on limited in-store fondling I'd say the Ethos rod feels better but I'd like to hear about how they perform against actual fish.

***Edit*** I'm specifically looking for a jig/worm rod. Other suggestions are welcome.

How do you fish jigs and worms, cast and retreive, pitch, skip, punch? Preffered rod length and power? Budget $130-$150?

Tom

I've used Dobyns Sierra 703C & 704C, Dobyns sometimes have used/refurbished rods for around $100 shipped. I've purchased 3 of their refurbished Sierra rods, they were like brand new.

I have a Falcon BuCoo SR that is also a nice rod choice.

With 3/8-1/2 oz jigs I wouldn't recommend anything under 4 power. The SA704C or SA734C Sierra from Dobyn's store refurbished rods is a good suggestion.

I didn't see his edit. I'd definitely agree with you on that.
