Herbert, Richmond Bassmasters has openings for boaters and non boaters.

We have had one tournament so far. Our next one will be on either Lake Chesdin or Buggs Island depending when the Corps opens the Buggs ramps to tournament fishing.

We fish 8 tournaments a year so you can join and fish the remaining seven. We do not fish in July or August due to heat and heat stroke issues.

If you want to join Richmond Bassmasters you will need to attend one of our meetings that are held the fourth Wednesday of each month, other than for December and the on the third Wednesday in November, at the Pickle Barrel. You can look up the Pickle Barrel on the Internet. Sharon, the owner, will probably have to close this week so we are not meeting.

Dues are $120 and includes paying the state and national BASS federations plus the big for the year pot.

You have to join BASS as an individual and have your BASS membership number to join the club.

The nonboater fee per tournament is $50 but where can you get a guide and make a friend for $50 these days plus have 8 hours on the water learning how the boater fishes for bass.

To get into the optional tournament pots it is $50 per boat or $25 each guy.

If you want to join the club please note the personal message I sent and give me a call. As stated above, we are not meeting this Wednesday and the club officers will probably vote to have our April 18th tournament on Lake Chesdin unless the Corps opens up Buggs and then we will try for 1) Eastland Creek; 2) Rudd's Creek; or 3) keep our North Bend Park ramp permit.

We fish as teams so there is no problem with back boating issues.

You will learn where the ramps are located; techniques; baits; places to fish; and lots of other information.

Give me a call this weekend or anytime. I ain't going anywhere this week.

Thanks.
