I might be going to look at this boat and I was wondering if anybody knew the gauge of the aluminum this boat is made out of?

I have a 1984 catalogue that lists the Bass Tracker III hull as .072.

My '89 Tracker is .072.

Mine is an '84 Tournament TX which has .090 aluminum.  I have never had a leak in the boat and it has taken a beating.

To be honest, I really don't know the hull thickness on my seventeen footer.  It could be .09.  The hull has taken a beating from the previous owner. In one spot near the stern there is a dent in it about two inches wide and an inch deep.  Remarkably, the hull is intact at that point.  My only problem is that the hull is riveted and leaks like a sieve, despite all my efforts at caulking, etc.  I wish I could find a fail-safe cure.

Yeah that is what i'm worried about, another leaky boat. I have leaky boat now. Long Mike, I have found a product that has held onto the outside of my hull where I somehow popped a pencil size hole through the hull. I will try to find out what it is when I get home. It has held really well and is really strong. I have tried lots of different things trying to patch the hole with no luck until I found this product. I bet you could full the hull with water mark the leaky rivets and then patch with this stuff and have no problems.

Long Mike, I was at my parents house this weekend but forgot to look at what the product is that I used for my boat. I should be there this week and will try to remember to look at what it is.

Ya'll need to try some J-B Weld. It comes in a tube and can be purchased at most any auto supply store.

I tried JB weld couldn't get it to stick to the hull, tried from the inside but it didn't seal completely.

I used permatex instant  gas tank repair on the leaks around my rivots and to my surprise no leaks through a full season.

use steelflex epoxy. just google it and you will find it.
