Power Pro Super Slick & Leader Line

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any experience with Power Pro Super Slick? My uncle offered to let me spool 3 reels with 40# for free so the price is right. I'm just trying to decide if that will be in my best interest for throwing texas rigs in typically lower visibility water with sparse cover. I'm also kicking around the idea of a leader.

Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions.

I have it on a few reels in yellow, spinning (10lb) and casting (30lb). I have used it with and without a leader and have many catches both ways.

It's the only braid I use now.  I find it more manageable than normal power pro, especially on a spinning rig.

I use slick 2 in blue 15lb. I tie an FG with 10 and 12lb mono or fluorocarbon without any issues. Great line,

It’s good line, pretty manageable but not my favorite. I use PowerPro maxcuatro on everything but my really light spinning rods where I either use super slick or suffix 832. In my experience I get more casting distance and less backlashes with maxcuatro, but super slick is still a good step above regular PP. I still like 832 better because it’s so supple but that’s just personal preference

I've been running PP Spectra the last few years. I finally spooled up one of my spinning reels with 15lb Super Slick in the moonshine color. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it definitely feels much smoother. Spectra is fairly coarse and takes some time breaking in.
