  1. What rod and reel set up do you like with the 3/0? 3.2” is the measurement of the swimbait I’m using so this could match up well.
  2. I really like the look of these. Wish they had eyes. I’ll give them a try though!
  3. I have some 3.2” swimbaits that I am wanting to fish a lot this year but every head I am finding either has too long of a shank or is a light weight on a light wire. I’d like to be at least at a 1/4 but a 3/8 would be awesome. I want a heavier hook that I can lean into a bit. Any recommendations?
  4. Here is a head with some meat to it @Catt! Do you think the depth of the rings matters much? My eyes are drawn to the deeper ribs but I don’t know if that is more catching the angler or the fish.
  5. All I can say is wow. Just saw that ZipZilla 13. I don’t even know how I would fish that monster but I might have to order just to see one.
  6. It’s 30 degrees in the garage so I rushed it and the plastic probably cooled a little faster than it should have. Regardless, I think this will be a fish catcher! I’m ready for that ring worm action! I have a trick worm next to it for reference! Thanks for all the feedback guys!
  7. Probably should get off the net. Eyeing this one now too. I’ll report out when I get open water.
  8. @Catt This one is 7”. Should be pretty thin through the main body but looks to have a solid profile with some good rings for air. I also like that bulkier head. Should take a screw lock well when I go that direction.
  9. Alright, I’m going to give it a go with this one. You talked me into it @Catt This one is a little different but I think it will respond best to the plastisol I use.
  10. This particular one is an injection @Choporoz. I guess I just don’t know the benefit if the ribs. Does that impart more action? Allow more flexibility? Catch air?
  11. What are the benefits of a ring worm vs a stick worm? Disadvantages? I’m looking at buying a small worm mold for a weightless presentation on my BFS rod and am torn. I appreciate any feedback!
  12. Clarifying from earlier, the hook I will use is a weighted version. To @Bassjam2000’s point, I am concerned about the taper for some of the rods I’m seeing. I see moderate and get nervous with the size of that hook. That might just be my inexperience with swim baits showing though. @PhishLI, I just assumed I would want to run straight braid but maybe that isn’t the best option. I really don’t know. My thought process was that I would want the responsiveness of braid to drive the hook home. I am also leery of toothy critters steeling my bait if I use anything else. Maybe this isn’t as much of an issue with heavier lines? Again, I’m usually fishing a lot lighter with 8# being my “heavy” line. My experience is obviously a little skewed on this topic. I’m going to read up on that Victory. I usually use Daiwa reels (Alphas Air, Steez CT SV, Zillion SV TW, etc… “lighter”) but that doesn’t mean I have to if there is a better option for this application. Thanks @Phil77, @MN Fisher, @RDB, @Hammer 4, @Bassjam2000, @Oklahoma Mike, @PhishLI and @GreenPig for jumping in the conversation. I really do appreciate the feedback.
  13. I have a few molds and am looking to take on the big (to me) swimbait world. The hook and plastic weigh 2 ounces. I fish a lot of finesse presentations and, consequently, have little knowledge of rods and reels on the upper end for weight. I usually put around $400-$500 into a rod and reel. Again, that is for finesse presentations where contact is important. Not sure if this is as important in this presentation. I’m assuming I want a slow retrieve but I could be wrong. Anyone have any insights or starting points for me? The swimbait I will use is attached. I’ll run a 10/O Owner Beast hook.
  14. I love these on the back of a bladed jig! ?
  15. They are a thicker 3” with a hook slot. I’ll message you.
