I'm wanting to replace some split rings on some baits and I've settled on owner black hyperwire rings but am confused what size to go with? Also what size oval ring for the line tie? Mainly using on 1/2 oz lipless and 1.5 to 2.5 squarebills

I use size 2 split rings for almost all of my regular cranking needs. I also use owner brand

In the past I've measured the stock split rings on a variety of crankbaits from different manufacturers with a ruler and the size 3 owner hyperwire is the sweet spot for maintaining stock hook positioning on most baits in the 3/8-5/8oz range. I haven't measured the line tie split rings so idk about that.

I am different. The first thing I do with a new bait is remove the split ring.  I do not tournament fish and find that a Duoloc, or Orvis fly snap works just fine for me.

I use #2 for most everything except #3 on some of my larger baits; ie Big topwaters.

I use size 2 or 3. But every time i ordered the black split rings, they always send the silver. It wasnt worth time sending them back,as i needed them asap. But if you want black,id call to verify
