Travel Swimbait Rod

Featured Replies

I’m planning to try 6in and 8in swimbait for bass this year in California but to physically go to California from here, I need to get on a plane. So is there any nice travel or 2pc swimbait rods that you guys know? The only one I could find so far is the Okuma Nomad Xpeess.

Tackleindustries.com makes 2pc musky rods which are perfect for throwing swimbaits. I don’t own any of their rods but I know some musky fisherman here are fond of them. They’re a little pricier than the okuma though.

What you want is the Okuma nomad x press travel swimbait rod. It’s 4 pieces I carry it right on the plane. There are 2 options I have the Heavy 1-4 oz and it will throw 8” bullshad’s just fine.

I think they're sold out at the moment but F5 custom rods sells a 3 piece travel series.
