Suggestions for getting distance when skipping a baitcaster Back-Handed

Anyone have technique suggestions on getting distance when skipping backhanded with a baitcaster?

I’ve seen guys use both hands and others just one when casting (Swindle).  I can do either moderately well - what I lack is distance.

Do you just decide to give up distance when backhand skipping or are there mechanics that help in that regard?

Glenn has a very good video on Facebook about casting backhanded.

I suggest you find it and note what Glenn says to do.

If I go to Facebook and find it I will add the link to this post.

Yes, but casting backhand is one thing, skipping is another...

I pitch skip rather than back hand.  Pitching is backhand anyways unless I have been doing it wrong.  I use a 7'11'' rod and have no problem getting baits out to, skipping an under more distance targets that I would normally roll cast with a shorter rod.  Got to put some umph in that pitch though and my 7'11'' is no broom handle and loads.

I think pitching might be a technique I want to try more.  I have all the SV reels from Tat to Steez.  I think there’s something to getting the rod to load a bit when pitching versus trying to fling it too much with the wrist/elbow..
