Tatula TTU701MRB VS TTU701MRB-G

Featured Replies

I want to add a rod to my new lineup for shallow and medium (mainly 5’ or less) crankbaits. It’s something I throw a good bit, but don’t have a specific rod for.

Im eyeing the Tatula 7’ M/R or the 7’ M/R Glass.  It’s my understating that’s Daiwas “R” lines up with other “moderates”.

I don’t have any experience with glass, but it seems like it’s favored by many for this application.  Anyone with experience on these two rods?

I have the non glass one. I use it for shallow and lipless crankbaits and highly recommend it. Daiwa’s Regular is between moderate and fast.

Thanks.
I have a M/F Carbonlite in the lineup already, so I don’t want something to close to that.

Can't speak for the newer Tatulas, but the OG Tatula "R" action is one of my all time favorites.  I'd imagine the new rods are the same.  Mine are MH/R, so they are probably more powerful that what you mentioned.  I wouldn't hesitate to use mine with small and/or shallow crankbaits though.
